Green all the way to the water
A yoga resort built into the canopy, where every roof is woven and every wall is missing on purpose.
Nothing here is in a hurry, so neither is this page.
One thing per screen. It settles when you arrive at it and lets go when you move on, which is roughly how the place works too.
The way in
You arrive on foot, and uphill
There is no lobby door to push. There are steps through the planting, a stone figure at the bottom of them, and a timber gate at the top.
01
Look up
The roofs are the architecture
Woven bamboo over timber rafters, carved panels along the ridge, lanterns hanging down, and open air where the walls would be.
02
The pool
Turquoise, with the jungle leaning in
Orange loungers down one side, planting right up to the edge on the other, and the pavilion at the end of it for when the sun is too much.
03
A shala
A room with no walls to speak of
Polished floor, orange hammocks hanging from the beams, and green in every direction you look. There are four of these.
04
Between classes
Beds that hang, for the hours in between
On the deck by the juice bar, facing out. This is where most of the day quietly disappears.
05
From above
Roofs first, then trees, then the surf
Nothing between the resort and the water except canopy. You hear the sea before you can see it.
06
Four halls, each one different
It is not that they built it in the jungle.
They left the jungle where it was and put roofs over parts of it. Which is why nothing here has four walls, and why you can hear everything outside from everywhere inside.Ask about dates
