The apartment is the entire attic. No corridors, no dividing walls to speak of, and the same rafters overhead in every room.

You do not go from room to room here. You just keep walking.

Kitchen, table, sofa and the doors to the balcony are all one space, and the roof is the only thing that tells you where you are in it.

Solid timber, long enough for everybody, and the kitchen is three steps behind it rather than shut away somewhere.

Where the evening happens

Old roof, new everything else.

The structure is left exactly as it was and lit properly, and the kitchen and bathroom underneath it are completely modern. That contrast is the whole character of the place.
