Rockside is a traditional Cycladic cave house in the heart of Emporio, the medieval castle village in the calm south of Santorini, renovated in 2023.
It sleeps four in one bedroom, with a private rooftop jacuzzi over the village and the sea, a modern kitchen, and the deep quiet of cobbled lanes just beyond the door.
Thick Cycladic walls, arched nooks and soft light, brought up to date in 2023 with a full modern kitchen, air conditioning, fast WiFi and everything a longer stay needs.
It is a home, not a hotel room: space to cook, to spread out, and to settle in.
Cook with what you find in the village, eat when you like, and come and go on your own hours. This is the freedom a villa gives you that a hotel cannot.
And when the day is done, the rooftop and the jacuzzi are waiting, with the sunset over the Aegean.
The home is just as described, very private and peaceful, and the tub is wonderful with the view. Shops are accessible on foot, less than five minutes. Would highly recommend Uri's place. 10 stars.
We stayed at Uri's Rockside Villa for two weeks and had a great experience. Outside the busiest tourist areas but still within easy reach of the rest of the island. The rooftop jacuzzi was a lovely addition.
It is peaceful and quiet, and Uri's local recommendations were one of the highlights of our Santorini trip. Overall, very happy with the place.
